When Steve Martin was talking about a wild a crazy guy in his SNL skits back in the 1970s, the character must have been a Sagittarius. Known to be free-spirts, progressive and adventurous, our Sag friends aren’t going to settle for just any old engagement ring, that’s for sure. They’re fire signs, you know. When it comes to vintage engagement rings and the zodiac, Sagittarius folks might just take the cake.

According to Cosmo, those born under the Sagittarius sign are great company for a wild weekend in Vegas. Sia? She’s a Sag. So are Brad Pitt and Billie Eilish. And Miley Cyrus? Yup, she’s maybe the most Sagittarius of them all.

And there’s also Mary, Queen of Scots. She was unconventional for sure. She became Queen just a few days after her birth, was pledged to be married at the age of five and sent off to France to be near her future husband’s family. When it was all said and done, she ended up with three husbands total (and may have had one of them, who got a bit too big for his britches and wanted to be co-ruler, “taken care of”) and was the focus of numerous plots. We can’t say if she had any engagement rings for sure, but if she did, you’d better bet they were outrageous by today’s standards. She was, after all, shunned by some because of her “overly embellished” outfits.

There was another Sag Queen – King Edward’s wife, Queen Alexandra, Born HRH Princess Alexandra Caroline Marie Charlotte Louise Julia of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Gluecksburg on November 20, 1925, Alix was apparently incredibly likable, but also notoriously incredibly late to, well, everything. But she was almost always forgiven, as soon as she arrived, disarming everyone with her fantastic smile. Her followers found her to be a fashion icon, and admired her radical style, which was well covered in the media of the day. After wearing high-necked pearl chokers – to cover up a small, childhood scar, her style started a trend that society ladies followed for the next 50 years.

I’ve known some Sagittarius gals in my lifetime and I would say they want anything but a traditional engagement ring. Freeform styles? They would work fine. Usual stones? That would work too. More than one “primary stone”? Also a good choice, I think. Just nothing ordinary.

Are you a born under the Jupiter ruled Sagittarius sign? What kind of engagement ring do you have or what would you choose? Did I come close? Tell me all about it in the comments below!

Maybe Isabella will be the exception to the rule, and her moon sign keeps her calm, cool and collected. You’ll have to keep me posted! XO, WendyKate
